#PLOGUE BIDULE REVIEW SKIN#
To my knowledge, none of the other patching languages out is organized in quite the same way, although there are lots of ways to skin a cat and you can most often do the same kinds of control things in another way in another system. Bidule can run either as a standalone app or as a ReWire Device.
#PLOGUE BIDULE REVIEW HOW TO#
A large part of mastering Kyma is becoming fluent in Capytalk and knowing how to get stuff done using it. Patch them anyway you like, in realtime, while it plays. Kyma however has a special real-time language called Capytalk that is used to do control operations - to manipulate parameter values and other stuff that goes on at control rate rather than at audio rate. In that sense, any of these tools will give you some kind of feel for what it's like to create new sounds using patching, and that knowledge can be applied to most of the other patching systems. Would any of you recommend starting with Bidule, learning the ropes of this kind of workflow and then move onto a Kyma system? Or are the two so completely different that it makes no difference at all.The basic idea behind all the patching languages out there - like Max, PD, Kyma, Plogue Bidule, etc., - is that modules are patched together, with audio flowing along the connections in the same way that it flows through the patch cords on a modular synth. I myself have been thinking about investing in a Kyma system, though having never used one I'm leary of spending that much money. What I really learned is that with these 2 programs or any programs for a fact it's important to build your own environment, and THAT right there is what will separate you from the copycats. Bidule is a commercial software application for the creation of interactive computer music and multimedia produced by the Canadian company Plogue Arts and. Why? Well, me not being a sound designer type of guy, I think Kyma is abit "advance" and gets way into depth on the little details (which nothing is wrong with that) but Plogue Bidule is just a straight forward program, has some of the features of Kyma (just not as much) which is important to me so I could just focus more on the production rather then the sound designing. The sound quality of Kyma (with the Capybara at least) is stunning though. As I been doing some homework and research on these 2 products this past week, I think Plogue Bidule will suit me best.

I ust powered it up again yesterday and am having fun again.Ĭonsidering it costs nothing to check out and even a license is not expensive, it's worth checking out. Plogue is not really supported (it's never reached version 1) and is simpler but still powerful and fun to use. Patching them any way you like, in realtime, while it plays. As mentioned above, Kyma goes much further and is capable of incredible stuff.
